Mr. Michael Obaseki brings over 26 years of extensive experience in the hydrocarbons industry to his role as Non- Executive Director and Board Member of RP Energy Fund. Mr. Obaseki demonstrated remarkable business growth while serving as Head of Country and Managing Director at BP Global West Africa, with turnover exceeding US$2 billion within five years.

As a seasoned management consultant and board director, Mr. Obaseki possesses a diverse skill set focused on maximizing growth opportunities and enhancing business performance. He excels in business strategy development, operations optimization, stakeholder engagement, and building strategic partnerships and alliances. With a deep understanding of the West and Sub-Saharan African commercial landscape, Mr. Obaseki is adept at navigating complex economic and political environments to drive commercial growth and expand organizational footprints.

His previous roles include serving as Head of Country, Nigeria, and Managing Director at British Petroleum (BP), Global West Africa Region, as well as leading Sub-Sahara LNG Origination at BP Gas Marketing Europe and Asia. Prior to his tenure at BP, Mr. Obaseki held key positions at KOCH Industries Inc. and Williams Companies, where he played integral roles in commodities trading, freight and crude trading, and commercial management.

Mr. Obaseki holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Texas Southern University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northeastern State University. Additionally, he holds Novell Certification (CNA) and has completed training in Future and Options Trading and Risk Management at Princeton.
